February 11th was proclaimed the International Day of Women and Girls
in Science by the United Nations. This is the occasion for a first
action of the Gender Parity Committee (X2-XY Committee) that was
initiated at a round table during the IBENS retreat. Its goals are to
raise awareness on this question, obtain feedback from IBENS members
and suggest actions that could be taken locally at IBENS to promote
gender equality.
On February 11th afternoon in salle Dussane, we will have the pleasure
to welcome 4 speakers that will give us an overview of gender parity in
science today as well as the actions they have been conducting. The
conferences (two in French/two in English) will be followed by a social
organized by SPIBENS and give us an opportunity to discuss and exchange
on this issue.
